Getting to know your Camping Coffee Percolator Pot

To ensure a long and happy relationship with your coffee pot please read this information
before using your percolator for the first time.
These instructions are for your general safety, use and care to avoid personal injury and damage to your percolator.

General
Be careful around your indoor or outdoor stove as heat, steam and splatter can cause burns. Ensure small children are kept away while making coffee. Children must never sit near or under the stove while making coffee.

Never use your percolator in the microwave.

This percolator is not an induction pot.

This percolator is not intended for commercial or restaurant use.
Avoid sliding or dragging the percolator over the surface of your stove top, especially glass top ranges as scratches may result. We are not responsible for scratched surfaces.

Before first use

Wash percolator, including coffee basket and lid, glass knob and percolator tube in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry.

Attach glass knob to lid and securely tighten in place before using the percolator.
Percolator use

Always place the percolator on a correctly sized burner. Do not use a burner larger than the diameter of the base of the percolator.

The percolator should only be heated on medium heat.

Ensure the percolator is at least half fill of clean water before placing on the stove top.

Avoid over-filling. The maximum water level should be below the spout of the percolator.

NEVER ALLOW THE PERCOLATOR TO BOIL DRY. An unattended, empty percolator on a hot burner can get extremely hot, which can cause personal injury and/or property damage.

Use caution when pouring hot water from the percolator. Always use a pot holder when removing the percolator from the heat.

Always pour water away from your body into a cup or other vessel.

To avoid hot water splatters, pour water at a low angle to your up or other vessel. Do not pour water from a high angle as hot watersplatters an cause burns.

Allow your percolator to cool on a heat resistant surface. Do not leave your percolator on a hot burner.

Do not use the percolator if the handle or spout are damaged.
Percolator care

Empty your percolator after each use.

Let percolator cool. Remove coffee basket and lid and the percolator tube, be careful as grounds and remaining water may still be warm.

Wash all parts with warm soapy water, rinse and dry. All parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

Do not use harsh abrasives or steel wool to clean your percolator as scratching may result.

Store with lid open.

The knob can also be screwed off for cleaning - replace the knob securely and tighten before using the percolator again.
